Rainwater harvesting is a simple way of re-cycling the rain which falls on our roofs. The water is captured via guttering and downpipes and then directed into a storage tank (usually underground) where it is filtered. This stored water can then be plumbed into your house, to be used in toilets, washing machines and outside taps. By installing a rainwater harvesting system, you reduce the amount of water provided by your mains supply, thus helping with water conservation, and reducing your water supply costs.
Grey water recycling is a way of reusing the water from washing machines, dishwashers and bathing, to flush our toilets. By recycling the grey water for this purpose, you can reduce the amount of water used in a household by approximately a third. This in turn reduces your water supply costs.
